Scott and Raquel Bryce
Scott Bryce began developing educational software in 1991. Scott was the programmer for training courses for clients such as The United States Air Force, the Alyeska pipeline and United Airlines. Scott was the lead programmer for ELLIS, the English Language Learning and Instruction System. Scott's work in the computer based instruction field earned 3 industry awards. In 1996 Scott began to transition his skills over to the internet. Seeing a need in his own children, he began creating software to generate customized math worksheets over the internet. This led to the development of The Math Worksheet Site, the premier website for supplemental materials for math teachers.
Raquel Bryce has been teaching reading and language arts in private, public and Montessori schools for nearly 30 years. Drawing from available curricula, she developed her own materials, taking the best ideas and putting them together into one system. As a student majoring in psychology and social work, Raquel worked as a reading tutor in a public elementary school to help pay for her education. Using her own system, she has had success teaching those students who had fallen the farthest behind, including ESL students.
In 2011 Scott began helping Raquel create materials for her tutoring job. Prior to this, Raquel created all of her materials by hand. Scott and Raquel were able to work together to create computer generated materials. The result is Spell Write Reading.
